Joe is a volunteer pastor/elder at Trinity Community Church. He and his wife Sara have been attending Trinity Community since April 2020. He works at the University of Missouri as an Economics professor, serving there since 2000. Before moving to Columbia, Joe and Sara and their three children--Elizabeth, Stephen and Peter--lived in Plano, TX.

What are your favorite books, music, movies?

I’m dating myself, but my favorite author is Tolkien and my musical tastes run from Classical, especially Vivaldi, to U2.

What is your favorite thing about Columbia?

Having gone to MU as an undergrad, the thing that surprised me the most is that there are some excellent restaurants in Columbia. Or, perhaps I did not have the money to go to the finer places in the 1980s.

What’s one crazy thing you want to do before you die?

I am trying to avoid bucket list items, but will travel to Scotland and England during Summer of 2023, enjoying golf and teaching economics on the same trip.

What do you love most about Trinity?

The thing I love most about Trinity is that the community is passionate about Jesus. This is the thing I want to do most before I die. And the journey/process is wonderful.
